Maintaining and Servicing the Segway SE-3 Patroller
• General maintenance and servicing procedures related to the SE-3 Patroller
• Important operating tips
The Segway SE-3 Patroller is designed to be virtually maintenance free. Make sure it is clean, all parts are installed and functioning properly, the
Battery Module is charged, and Tires are properly inflated prior to riding. Never attempt to access the Electronics, Motors, or Gearboxes. These
are not user-serviceable parts.
WARNING
• Always shut down the Segway SE-3 Patroller, unplug the AC Power Cord, and set the Parking Brake before performing any maintenance
or installing any part or accessory. It is not safe to perform these procedures while the SE-3 Patroller is powered on or charging.
• Do not attempt to access the Electronics, Motors, or Gearboxes. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. By accessing these com-
ponents you risk electric shock injury. Also, you could void your limited warranty/guarantee, damage the SE-3 Patroller, and render it
unsafe to operate.
• Adhere to torque specifications when tightening fasteners. Over tightened or under tightened fasteners could malfunction, leading to
damage or serious injury.
• Do not attempt to lift the SE-3 Patroller by hand. The vehicle is too heavy and unwieldy to lift safely without proper equipment and
training.
• Use only Segway-approved parts, fasteners, and accessories.
• Wear safety glasses. Failure to do so could result in serious injury.
